Bolt clung to Freddie's leg. What was he meant to do now?
His assignment had saved him.
What was he meant to do?
Nightmares flickered at the edge of his vision.
The sword flickered in the dark.
"Bolt?" Chester's voice wavered in the dark.
"I'm fine." Bolt replied.
Freddie patted him on the head, and Bolt couldn't help
looking up to check on Chester's blade. It was dim, but holding steady. The rabbit himself didn't seem as dark as usual.
Freddie flared. Shining bright.
Blue had sank to the floor.
What was he thinking?
Freddie walked over to the dragon, he was almost as big as
Freddie.
"You're mine now." Freddie said, poking the
dragon.
Dark eyes flickered up.
"Why?"
Freddie curled a hand around a wing.
"I would have followed my sister anywhere."
Freddie said calmly, gathering the dragon up in his arms.
Bolt laughed. A nervous giggle.
Chester jumped down and hovered over the bear. "You ok
kit?"
"I'm useless." Bolt said, "I'm completely
utterly useless."
The light of the sword went out.
"Oh dear." Chester said, leaving only his dim
blade lighting them.
"We are leaving now!" Freddie said, grasping
Blue's arm, and scooping up the others, dragging them out of the room.
Blue laughed, crazy, insane laughter.
"We're going to die."
