The sky opened.
Demons poured through, like blood gushing from a mortal
wound.
The kingdom stood ready.
Destiny waited, eyes intent on the sky, long ranged weapons
booming around her, looking for something only she would recognise.
“Now!” She
demanded, and Kismet clutched her arm, magic flaring around them, Destiny’s
form shimmered like a heat mirage and her arm slipped through Kismet’s grip.
Destiny grinned, bouncing in place, “Today is a good day
to die.”
She took off, a flicker of light and air and water.
In her wake two small figures followed.
Guard her, save
her, let her reach her goal.
Destiny flew like a storm blown wind, dark clouds
gathering over the field.
I hate to admit it,
but she’s right, it’s the best plan we have.
Two armies met in battle.
She’s our best
hope.
