Mad at Mouse Part 22

Mickey woke with the feeling he was missing something. For once he was alone in the room, but not for long if the sound of angry voices were anything to go on.

Sora burst in the room with enough energy to make Mickey feeling exhausted all over again.

He was followed quickly by Donald and Goofy, then more sedately Riku and Minnie.

“What’s wrong?” Mickey asked, knowing something must be if they were invading like this.

“Destiny’s gone.” Riku answered. “She ran out on us.”

“She was frightened.” Sora stressed.

Riku rolled her eyes, “She thinks something is wrong.”

Mickey looked between the two on the verge of arguing. “Donald? Goofy?”

The pair shared a glance. “She was right about the stars.” Donald said.

Mickey felt his heart drop, cold seeping in again. “The stars?” He jerked forward, there wasn’t a window in the room, but those words was almost enough to send him hunting.

“The stars don’t look right.” Goofy confirmed.

“We matched it up to the star charts. There are gaps.” Donald added.

Riku shook his head, “The stars have moved. You can’t prove there are gaps.”

Mickey sank down into his pillows. “No.”

“Mickey...” Minnie said, pushing forward and taking his hand. “You need to rest. This can wait.”

“No.” Mickey smiled weakly at Minnie, “It can’t. Not this.”

The others shared a worried look. Sora stepped forward, “You should focus on getting better. We can deal with this, can’t we guys?”

“Yeah!”

“Uh huh.”

“Trust us.” Riku finished.

Mickey sighed, looking each of them in the eye in turn, knowing he had no choice in the matter. “I do trust you.”
