Perry watched from a safe distance as the boy’s new friend
wandered about in thought.
There was something off about the woman, something broken,
but she didn’t appear to mean any harm.
His watch beeped, and Perry reluctantly put down the binoculars.
Duty called.
He knocked on the wall and darted in the opening, sliding
down into his secret base.
“Ah, Agent P, there you are. Doofenschmirtz is up to no good
again.”
Perry nodded, settling into the chair and waiting for his
briefing.
A picture of the night sky came on screen. “You may not have
noticed, but recently the Night Sky has changed.”
Perry considered the image, and raised an eyebrow at Major
Monogram.
“Carl!” Monogram yelled, “Why is there a photo of me dressed
as Amanda Palmer? I thought I ordered those destroyed.”
“Sorry Sir!” Carl called back, “Here you go Agent P.”
The image changed, showing a vast array of stars. “This was
taken last year.” Carl explained.
“And this was last night.” The photo changed. If was as if
someone had gone through the sky with a black paint brush, there were large
empty patches.
That wasn’t Doofenschmirtz.
“Now go find out what Doofenschmirtz is up to, Agent P.” Monogram
ordered.
Perry took one last look at the picture, the dark patches in the sky,
and left.
It wasn’t Doofenschmirtz.
But Doofenschmirtz might know what was going on.
