There was silence.
“The Universe!?” Phineas sounded horrified, his voice
reaching that pitch that usually meant something had to be done, and it had to
be done right now!
“Yes. The entire Universe.” Doofenschmirtz said,
shrugging helplessly, “At least that’s what Destiny said. Stars going out. Demons
leaking through, the high roads flooding, then KABOOM!”
“We have to do something!” Phineas said, glancing towards
his friends, his brother and sister, his secret agent.
“But Destiny is crazy!” Doofenschmirtz exclaimed, “President
of Loony Town, a few cents short of a dollar, not playing with a full deck
Crazy!”
“But Dad...”
“The Stars are going out.” Beljeet stated, “I have maps,
the sky is all wrong!” There was a whine in his voice, like the stars had
personally betrayed him.
“I don’t know Phineas, this might be too big even for you”
Isabella said.
“No. I don’t
believe that. We can do anything. Can’t
we Ferb?” Phineas asked, trying to calm the group.
Ferb reached out to pet Perry, thinking heavily, “There
comes a time in every person’s life when the possibility of failure is too
terrible to consider.” Ferb stated.
Phineas met his eyes and nodded sharply. “Right.”
I believe.
Phineas smiled, it was forced, a shadow of his usual
carefree grin, “I know what we’re going to do today.”
I believe in
heroes.
