Mad at Mouse Part 51

Disney Castle prepared for war, watching as one after another the Stars went out.

The King remained silent, his heart was troubled, whatever was coming wasn’t like anything he had faced before.

The Heartless fled before them, their power scattering across the Worlds.

Destiny would say little on the subject, except, “He is coming for me.”

Soon, others arrived. Seeing what was coming, hundreds of people fled before it, using any method they could find.

Some stayed, adding to their defences.

Most kept moving. Mickey couldn’t blame them, he wished some of his people would do the same, but no, this was their home, they would say and fight.

Most surprising, were the people who trickled in from the other way, back tracking the stream of refugees, running to meet the enemy.

Warriors, or mages, or healers. All sorts really. All with a willing heart and clear eyes turned skyward.

“Your majesty?” Goofy interrupted his thoughts, and Mickey turned away from the window.

“Can we do it?” Mickey asked, and almost cursed himself for such a green question.

Goofy hyucked at him nervously, “Well sure your kingship, with all these nice folks helping...”

Mickey tried to smile back, and rubbed his head, ”Aw shucks, this is such a mess.”

“Yeah...” Goofy said, glancing towards the window, “But we’ve been training for this.” He jerked suddenly, “Oh! You have visitors! You won’t believe what the cat dragged in” Goofy grinned.

Mickey tilted his head curiously, surely he didn’t mean...? And darted out the study.

Standing in the Hallway was Maleficent, and surrounding her the council of villains.

“Oh dear.” Mickey muttered, before putting his best face on, “Maleficent, how lovely to see you.”
